An MoU Was Signed to Transfer Assets Declaration Directorate and Special Anti-Corruption Secretariat to the Anti-Corruption Commission

Dr. Fazel Mahmood Fazly, Director-General of the Administrative Office of the President, with Attorney General Abdul Qayyum Nizami, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, agreed to transfer the Asset Declaration Directorate and the Special Anti-Corruption Secretariat to the Commission.

The Director-General of AOP said that various agencies such as the Asset Declaration Directorate, Special Anti-Corruption Secretariat, and The Ombudsperson of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan are fighting corruption should be under one leadership. With the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Commission, in the first phase, the Asset Declaration Directorate and the Special Secretariat for Anti-Corruption were transferred to the Commission, and the anti-corruption efforts came under a single umbrella.
Mr. Fazly added: "enough capacity has been created in the Asset Declaration Directorate for the Commission to make full use of it." He added, "The Special Secretariat for Combating Corruption has provided the international community and institutions with better anti-corruption mechanisms, which should also be utilized."
The Anti-Corruption Commission's Chairman welcomed the transitional process under the Commission's umbrella, saying that the fight against corruption is difficult, complex, and sensitive.
He insisted that one of the Commission's programs is to relocate parallel administration under its umbrella.
Mr. Nizami added that these capacities would be further strengthened in addition to utilizing the existing capacities of these agencies.
