A meeting led by AbdulKarim Tutakhel, Deputy Director General of Administrative Office of the President, was held to discuss implementation the order of H.E President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the progress of land acquisition, including land acquisition for projects of the National Water Affairs Regulation Authority. Other participants were representatives of the Ministries of Public Works, Urban Development and Lands, National Water Affairs Regulation Authority, and Kabul Municipality shared their concerns about the issue.
Dr. AbdulKarim Tutakhel asked the representatives of the agencies and ministries to submit a report regarding land acquisition.
In this meeting, the representatives of agencies shared the progress and the challenges faced during implementing orders. One of them was compensating those people who are affected by these projects.
The National Water Affairs Regulatory Authority reported similar problems in regards to executing projects. They suggested that projects should be discussed among the locals on the ground with provincial leadership to gain support.
It was decided that the Deputy Director-General of AOP, Dr. AbdulKarim Tutakhail will speak to the governors of Nangarhar, Faryab, and Badghis to strengthen coordination and understanding with the people.
