The meeting in this regard was led by Shapoor Zhman, Director of the Coordination of High Councils Affairs of AOP, and was attended by representatives of the relevant ministries and agencies.
The Committee had been established based on decree no. 1422, of H.E president to work on the procedure of the development strategies of major cities under the chairmanship of H.E President Ashraf Ghani.
At the meeting, representatives of the ministries and agencies involved shared their views and discussed the Committee's approach. It was also suggested that a technical committee be set up to implement the urban development framework strategy in the capital Kabul and five major cities (Herat, Jalalabad, Kandahar, Khost, and Mazar-e-Sharif).
The KUDF and SDF committees have prepared and approved the development framework plans for these cities. In the future, this Committee will be responsible for facilitating the procedures and developing similar projects for other cities in the country.
