Second Coordination Meeting Between Directorate of Policy and Strategy and Environmental Protection Sector Held

On August 31, 2026, a second follow-up meeting was held in the office of Mufti Abdul Wahid Usmani, Director of Policy and Strategy at the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, with representatives of the Environmental Protection Sector to discuss the environmental protection situation in Kabul city and ways to address environmental problems.

At the outset of the meeting, Mufti Abdul Wahid Usmani welcomed the participants, reviewed the decisions of the previous meeting, and spoke in detail about the importance of the issue and ways to address environmental problems.

Subsequently, after providing information on the operational priorities of the Environmental Protection Directorate, the participants shared their views and suggestions on the urban forestry plan, implementation of the air pollution reduction plan, comprehensive solid waste management, and plans for a rainwater harvesting system. They stressed the need to implement these plans and discussed finding effective and practical solutions to improve the environmental situation in Kabul city.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Director of Policy and Strategy listened to the views, suggestions, and perspectives of the participants and emphasized the continuation of joint efforts to further develop the relevant plans and identify practical solutions, with the aim of better organizing the matter and ensuring its implementation.

The meeting, which began with the recitation of the verses from Holy Quran, concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
