Coordination Meeting Held on Improving Health Services in Emirate and Private Hospitals

On April 25, 2026, a coordination meeting was held under the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Idrees Anwari, Director of Cultural and Social Affairs at the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, with representatives of the Ministry of Public Health to discuss the provision of improved health services to citizens in Emirate-run and private hospitals.

At the outset of the meeting, Noor Mohammad Haidari, Deputy Director of Cultural and Social Affairs, welcomed the participants and stated that the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs is responsible for listening to the concerns of citizens and sharing them with the relevant authorities for resolution.

Following this, a public health sector expert from the Cultural and Social Affairs Directorate, in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Public Health, highlighted a number of issues in Emirate-run hospitals, including a shortage of medical equipment, a lack of emergency medical supplies, a shortage of specialized doctors, the lack of use of electronic prescriptions, and inadequate patient care and conduct.

Representatives of the Ministry of Public Health assured participants that the mentioned issues would be addressed. They noted that over the past 20 years, there had been no significant progress in the health sector, but since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, considerable reforms have been introduced in hospitals and healthcare services. As a result, many illnesses that previously required patients to seek treatment abroad can now be treated in the country.

Meanwhile, the Director of Cultural and Social Affairs emphasized that many citizens face financial difficulties and are unable to afford treatment in private hospitals. He stressed the need to further improve services in Emirate-run hospitals, expand access to medical equipment, and strengthen the capacity and performance of specialized doctors. He also listened to the concerns raised by the ministry’s representatives and assured them of cooperation in addressing these issues.

The meeting, which commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
