Meeting Held on Mine Action and Raising Public Awareness
On April 8, 2026, a meeting was held to support mine action efforts and raise awareness about the dangers of landmines, with the participation of the Director General of Administrative Affairs, Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlavi Noorul Haq Anwar, several other directors, and representatives of foreign investors.
The Director General of Administrative Affairs, Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlavi Noorul Haq Anwar, stated that our country has witnessed decades of invasions and continuous wars, and mine contamination is one of the harmful remnants of those conflicts. Islamic Sharia, like other aspects of life, provides clear principles and guidelines regarding war and conflict. The purpose of war is not the killing of people, the destruction of cities, or causing distress to civilians.
He added that war is undertaken for a sacred purpose, to ensure peace and security; so that people can achieve their legitimate objectives within the framework of divine justice. He noted that, praise be to Allah, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has remained committed to Islamic guidance throughout its struggle and has exercised utmost caution to avoid harm to civilians and innocent people.
He further stated that the Islamic Emirate considers the presence of mines a serious threat to the lives of Afghans, especially children and animals, and strongly condemns it as an inhumane act. He added that such mines were laid by those who claim to support humanitarian values and human rights, yet have carried out such actions here.
The meeting, which commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
