Second Meeting on Revenue Collection of Municipalities Through Banks Convened
On January 14, 2026, the second meeting aimed at implementing Order No. (2071) of His Highness Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), regarding the collection of revenues of provincial and district municipalities across the country through banks, was held under the chairmanship of Mawlavi Saifuddin Taieb, Deputy Director General for Coordination of Emirate Affairs at the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs.
The meeting was held at the office of the Deputy for Coordination of Emirate Affairs and was attended by Mawlavi Mohammad Ishaq Akhundzada, Director General for Coordination of Municipal Affairs; Mawlavi Siddiqullah Khalid, First Deputy Governor of Da Afghanistan Bank; the Director General of Treasury at the Ministry of Finance; a representative of the Economic Deputy Office of the Prime Minister; and representatives of Pashtany Bank and Bank-e-Milli Afghan.
At the outset, Mawlavi Saifuddin Taieb spoke about the decisions made during the previous meeting and provided information on the importance of the order of His Highness Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him).
Meanwhile, representatives of Pashtany Bank and Bank-e-Milli Afghan presented their proposals regarding mechanisms for revenue collection, the establishment of banking booths in district municipalities, and the provision of banking facilities.
In conclusion, the proposed suggestions were accepted, and it was decided that following the signing of agreements between both banks and the General Directorate for Coordination of Municipal Affairs, the practical implementation of the process would commence.
The meeting, which began with the recitation of the verses from Holy Quran, ended with a prayer for goodwill.
