Coordination Meeting Held with Representatives of Environmental Protection Agency Regarding Prevention of Pollution in Kabul City
On December 7, 2025, a coordination meeting regarding the prevention of pollution in Kabul city was held in the conference hall of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, under the chairmanship of Mawlavi Mohammad Rabbani Naseeh, Director of Cultural and Social Affairs, with the participation of the Deputy Director and experts of the same directorate, as well as representatives of the National Environmental Protection Agency.
At the outset, the Deputy Director of Cultural and Social Affairs shared information with the participants about the polluted environment and requested clarification from the representatives of the National Environmental Protection Agency regarding pollution prevention and the existing methods.
The Planning Director of the Environmental Protection Agency said that unrefined fuels are one of the main causes of environmental pollution. He added that with the return of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, a comprehensive environmental protection plan has been prepared, which will be implemented in the near future.
Similarly, the Head of Control at the Environmental Protection Agency stated that due to the high prices of fuel, people cannot afford clean energy sources. The high prices of gas, oil, and wood, along with a lack of electricity, force people to use unrefined coal, which leads to increased pollution.
At the end of the meeting, the participants’ views and requests were heard, and various approaches to preventing pollution were discussed.
The meeting, which began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
