Consultative Meeting Held Regarding Handover of Ground Handling Services to Ariana Afghan Airlines


On November 12, 2025, under the chairmanship of Mawlavi Saifuddin Taieb, Deputy Director General for Coordination of Emirate Affairs at the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, a consultative meeting was held between Ariana Afghan Airlines and the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation regarding the handover of ground handling services at the country’s airports to Ariana Afghan Airlines.

The meeting, held at the office of the Deputy Director General for Coordination of Emirate Affairs, was attended by Mufti Shamsurrahman, Director of Economy and Infrastructure at the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, Mawlavi Bakhturrahman Sharafat, Director General of Ariana Afghan Airlines, Abdul Sattar Gharwal, Director General of Civil Airports, and several other officials.

At the outset, the Director of Economy and Infrastructure welcomed the participants and stated that Ariana Afghan Airlines has requested that the contract for ground handling services at the country’s airports, which is currently held by GAAC Company, be awarded to Ariana Afghan Airlines.

Mawlavi Bakhturrahman Sharafat, Director General of Ariana Afghan Airlines, said that if the mentioned contract is awarded to Ariana, it would improve the quality of the airline’s services and lead to a significant reduction in ticket prices.

In his remarks, Mawlavi Saifuddin Taieb emphasized that all sides should work together for the strengthening of the system and for providing better services to the people. He also urged the officials of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation to maintain consistent cooperation in strengthening Ariana Afghan Airlines.

In conclusion, Mawlavi Saifuddin Taieb decided that both sides should reach an agreement on the matter through mutual meetings and share the outcome report with the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs so that it can be presented to the Office of the Prime Minister.

The meeting, which began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
