Contract for Construction of Commercial Market Signed in Sar-e-Pul
On October 14, 2025, under the chairmanship of Mawlavi Mohammad Ishaq Akhundzada, Director General for Coordination of Municipal Affairs of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, the contract for the construction of a commercial market in Sar-e-Pul Province was signed during a special ceremony.
The ceremony, held in the office of the Director General for Coordination of Municipal Affairs, was attended by Mawlavi Mohammad Ishaq Akhundzada, Investment Facilitation Director Mawlavi Engineer Ahmad Zia Khalid, and representatives of the investing company.
At the outset, Mawlavi Mohammad Ishaq Akhundzada spoke about the importance of investment in the country’s economic growth and said that investors should invest in the country with sincere intentions, so that they may gain both worldly and spiritual benefits.
He assured the officials of the investing company of every kind of principled cooperation, adding that Afghanistan now enjoys independence and stability, so investors who have invested abroad can confidently transfer their investments back to their own country.
Subsequently, Investment Facilitation Director Mawlavi Engineer Ahmad Zia Khalid provided details about the project, stating that in Sar-e-Pul Province, a contract worth over 52 million Afghanis was signed with the Mukhtar Abubakar Company for the construction of a six-story commercial market, with a duration of 26 years (two years for construction and 24 years for operation).
Following the signing of the contract, the meeting concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
