The Director General for Coordination of Municipal Affairs met with the Governor of Herat.
On August 27, 2024, Mawlavi Mohammad Ishaq Akhundzada, the Director General for Coordination of Municipal Affairs, met with the governor, district governors, mayors, and sector heads of Herat Province to discuss improving municipal affairs and relations with the Emirate institutions and the people.
The meeting took place in the governor's office, where Mawlavi Mohammad Ishaq Akhundzada explained that the municipality operates as a non-budgetary institution, with revenues generated from cleaning and property rent being used to provide services to the people. The more income the municipality generates, the more services it can offer.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Noor Ahmad Islamjar, the Governor of Herat, expressed his appreciation for the visit of the Director General for Coordination of Municipal Affairs to Herat province. He stated that the municipality can bring the system to its destination and that the Islamic Emirate aims to satisfy God and bring comfort to the people. He also highlighted the significance of public consultation and cooperation in the development and greenery of Herat City.
During the meeting, Noorullah Haqmal, an expert from the General Directorate for Coordination of Municipal Affairs, presented a presentation on revenue collection, expenditure, service provision, and other municipal issues.
Mawlavi Mohammad Ishaq Akhundzada expressed appreciation for the legitimate ideas and suggestions from the Emirate institutions and the people and assured them of the General Directorate for Coordination of Municipal Affairs' cooperation with all institutions.
The meeting, which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
