On August 25, 2024, Mawlavi Mohammad Rabbani Naseeh, the Cultural and Social Affairs Director of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, met with religious scholars from eight districts of Kabul City to discuss their concerns.
The meeting took place at the conference hall of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, with Engineer Noor Mohammad Haidari, the Deputy Director of Cultural and Social Affairs, welcoming the guests. Haidari emphasized that engaging with religious scholars, addressing people's problems and concerns, and meeting with ethnic elders are essential responsibilities of the directorate.
He stated that the directorate has conducted nearly 100 meetings with various segments of society since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate.
During the meeting, the Ulema and representatives from the eight districts spoke in turn and raised issues including the lack of electricity in mosques, inadequate salaries for Imams, poor street conditions, lack of equipment in schools, shortage of madrassas, employment opportunities, and ID card issues, and requested solutions.
The Cultural and Social Affairs Director assured the Ulema that he would share their issues and suggestions with relevant institutions to address them, emphasizing that the meeting was not merely ceremonial and that the concerns raised would be taken seriously.
The meeting, which commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
