A coordination meeting was held to fulfill the order of the Prime Minister’s Office
On Aug 19, 2024, a coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mawlavi Abdul Baqi Mansour, the Director of the National Procurement Directorate (NPD) regarding the Public Health Ministry's proposals for establishing an IV (intravenous) fluid production factory. The meeting took place at the NPD Director's office and was attended by representatives from the Ministries of Public Health and Finance.
Mawlavi Abdul Baqi Mansour stated that the contract for the establishment of an IV fluid production factory was signed during the previous administration between the Ministry of Public Health and a Chinese company. Almost 17 years have passed since then, necessitating a comprehensive review of all aspects of the contract.
During the meeting, representatives from the Ministries of Finance and Public Health separately briefed the participants on how to establish the factory, the contract's nature, and the amount of payments and debts.
In the end, it was decided that the existing contract should be thoroughly investigated and all problems related to the factory and relevant institutions should be identified. Technical opinions regarding the identified issues will be presented, and a final report will be submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The meeting, which commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
