A coordination meeting was held to prevent the usurpation of forest areas in Kunduz Province
On July 3, 2024, based on the direction of the Prime Minister's Office, a coordination meeting was held to prevent the illegal cutting and usurpation of forest areas in the Imam Sahib District of Kunduz Province.
The meeting was led by the Directorate of Legal, Legislative, and Judicial Affairs and was attended by representatives from various ministries including Interior, National Defense, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Rural Rehabilitation and Development, as well as the National Environmental Protection Agency.
The meeting commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran at the conference hall of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs. Representatives of the attending agencies expressed their views on the issue and emphasized the need for coordination and collaboration among local authorities to address the matter.
Mawlavi Muhammad Hanan Haqqani, Director of Legal, Legislative and Judicial Affairs, proposed further investigation into the usurped areas and forests of Imam Sahib District, taking into consideration the findings of a previous delegation that had visited the area.
In conclusion, it was decided that a delegation, in coordination with related agencies, would travel to Kunduz Province to closely examine the problems and submit a report to the Prime Minister's Office for a final decision.
The meeting concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
