On June 12, 2024, the Cultural and Social Affairs Director, Mawlavi Mohammad Rabbani Naseeh Rabbani, met with the representatives of drinking water supply unions and companies in order to address their issues.
The meeting took place at the conference hall of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, where the Deputy Director of Cultural and Social Affairs, Engineer Noor Mohammad Haidari, welcomed the representatives. He mentioned that numerous meetings had been held last year with various sections of society based on the order of Esteemed Amirul Momineen Hafidzahullahu Ta'ala to address concerns and suggestions.
During the meeting, representatives of drinking water supply unions spoke in turn according to the agenda and presented their opinions, plans, and suggestions to solve the issue of water shortage, stressing the need for collaboration between the Emirate, the people, and the private sector.
They highlighted factors such as water transportation in tankers from outside Kabul city, lack of water absorption due to concrete and plastering, and excessive digging of deep wells beyond the needs of the people as the main causes of the water shortage.
The Director of Cultural and Social Affairs carefully listened to the problems, opinions, and plans of the representatives and assured them that the officials of Islamic Emirate are committed to solving the problems together with the people. He reassured the representatives of the companies that the issue of drinking water shortage is being taken seriously, and all their requests and suggestions will be shared with the high authorities of Islamic Emirate for a solution.
The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
