60 employees graduated from the urban governance training program of 34 provinces

Feb 28, 2023- The four-day training program by the General Directorate of Coordination of Municipal Affairs for the mayors, heads, and administrators of different provinces and districts of the country, has concluded during a special ceremony.

This ceremony was held at the conference hall of the Civil Services Institute. Meanwhile, the ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and was followed by the speeches of officials.

In the meeting, Mawlavi Muhammad Hanan Haqqani, Head of the Office to the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, said that the officials of the municipality should be aware of the people's problems in time, address them well, and avoid negligence in their responsibilities.

Similarly, Mufti Muhammad Yaqoob Sharafat, Urban Governance Director of the General Directorate of Coordination of Municipal Affairs, stated to the officials that in order to earn the satisfaction of the people and provide good service, attention should be paid to transparency in affairs so that no gap can be created between the government and people.

Hon. Ustad Mohammad Javid Mayar, the mayor of Herat, on behalf of the officials of the municipalities in the meeting, called the training program effective and added that the skills learned in this training program will prove to be effective in administrative affairs.

Meanwhile, the head of Urban Governance of Khost Municipality, Muhammadullah Shirzai, in his speech mentioned the lack of training programs and personnel for municipalities, absence of experimental trips, weak coordination among relevant agencies while processing legislative documents as their problems, and requested solutions.

This training program, which started four days ago, was attended by officials and representatives of the municipalities of 34 provinces and districts of the country, who were trained in the areas related to municipal affairs.

According to the officials of the General Directorate of Coordination of Municipal Affairs, during this training program, participants were provided training about urban governance, accountability in municipal affairs, urban culture, addressing public complaints, supporting youth and county representatives, cultural activities, and several other issues.

The mentioned training program concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants.
