The Cultural and Social Affairs Director visits the Afghanistan Public Library

Feb 5, 2023- The Cultural and Social Affairs Director of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, Mawlavi Muhammad Ishaq Akhundzada visited various branches of the Afghanistan Public Library and engaged with the officials of this library.

During this visit, Mawlavi Muhammad Ishaq Akhundzada met with the director of the library, listened to his difficulties and recommendations about the library, and said to him that Islamic Emirate intends to find basic solutions to the problems of every aspect of the system and takes necessary actions regarding it.

Meanwhile, during this meeting, the director of public libraries, Qari Obaidullah Hanif mentioned the provision of training programs and the distribution of thousands of books to the managers of the country's libraries as one of his achievements and he called the unavailability of a large space for the library, fire fighting equipment, and treatment of damaged books as their main problems.

Mr. Hanif added that since the establishment of this library, no concentration has been paid to its reconstruction and development and according to him, during the civil conflicts, this library was badly damaged, which now needs development and construction, and emphasized that this library should be matched with international standards in terms of building and administration.
