The Cultural And Social Affairs Director Visits The Afghan National Gallery (ANG)


Jan 22, 2023- The Cultural and Social Affairs Director of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, Mawlavi Muhammad Ishaq Akhundzada undertook a visit to the Afghan National Gallery (ANG).

During this visit, Mawlavi Muhammad Ishaq Akhundzada engaged with gallery officials, telling them that Islamic Emirate pays good attention to all aspects of the governance and that Afghans are hardworking people, whose abilities should be capitalized.

Afterward, Mawlavi Muhammad Ishaq Akhundzada closely visited various parts of the gallery, praising the talent of Afghan artists, and advising the officials not to be satisfied with the current achievements, but to train more people in this field.

The Afghan National Gallery (ANG), which operates under the umbrella of the Deputy Ministry of Information and Culture for Art and Culture, was established in the 1382 solar year, housing 800 paintings of foreign and national painters.

The collection of this gallery includes works of art on paper, oil paintings, miniatures, collages, embroidery and needlework, pastels, wood graving on wood and metal, posters, and synthetic pieces of modern art in different styles.

It is worth mentioning that some pieces of art that were partially destroyed due to civil wars and negligence are now being restored and maintained by the professional staff of the gallery.
