Islamic Emirate is committed to the preservation of cultural heritages, says Cultural and Social Affairs Director


Jan 9, 2023- The Cultural and Social Affairs Director of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, Mawlavi Muhammad Ishaq Akhundzada undertook a visit to the National Museum of Afghanistan.

During this visit, Mawlavi Muhammad Ishaq Akhundzada engaged with museum officials, listening to their problems and suggestions.

Mawlavi Sebghatullah Abid, Director of the National Museum of Afghanistan expressed his gratitude to Mawlavi Muhammad Ishaq Akhundzada for visiting the museum and listening to his problems.

Mr. Abid presented information about the museum and requested the cooperation of the officials of Islamic Emirate regarding the lack of appropriate space and buildings in the museum for historical heritage, the establishment of ancient monuments exhibitions outside the country, and in some other areas.

Notably, Mawlavi Muhammad Ishaq Akhundzada closely visited various parts of the museum and ancient monuments, as well as provided essential recommendations to the officials of the museum pertaining to the preservation and development of the cultural heritage.

Mawlavi Muhammad Ishaq Akhundzada said that Islamic Emirate is committed to the preservation of cultural heritages and called the discovery and conservation of historical monuments of the country, especially Islamic historical heritages as necessary.

Based on the information provided by the officials of the museum, it has around 50,000 items of various historical heritages and this museum is richer than the museums of the countries in the region, as well as having ancient monuments of the past 5,000 years.

Meanwhile, the officials of the museum are concerned that throughout history and during the wars, some of the museum's monuments have been looted and smuggled out of the country, and the officials are trying to bring them back to the country.
