A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the AOP IEA and Humanitarian Organization for the People of Afghanistan for 6 months of time.

Mufti Muhammad Yaqoob Sharafat, Director of Urban Governance of the General Directorate of Municipalities of AOP IEA, in a meeting with the HOPA urged the domestic and international organizations to assist Afghans at this critical time.

Today, July 24, 2023, the General Directorate of Municipalities of AOP IEA signed the 6-month project worth (4091358) four million ninety one thousand three hundred and fifty-eight AFNs, which is implemented by the World Food Organization (WFP) in cooperation with the Humanitarian Organization for the People of Afghanistan (HOPA).

Director of Urban Governance assured of cooperation, coordination and the creation of a framework for the implementation of projects and said: "It is necessary to stand by our people and hold their hands in difficult situations."

Mufti Muhammad Yaqoob Sharafat added in this meeting that the General Directorate of Municipalities supports all those projects that provide the ground for work in the country and results in the development of the country.

The representatives of HOPA said that the purpose of this project is to attract foreign aid and help the needy people and requested the cooperation of the AOP IEA in the implementation of this project.

The mentioned project is implemented in four areas of Kandahar province, 70% of which will be cash aid for widows, orphans, and the disabled, and 30% of it will be allocated to create jobs for the youth.
