A consultative meeting was held regarding the improvement and capacity building of public procurement

A consultative meeting was held between ministries and government agencies in order to improve and enhance the capacity of public procurement by the National Procurement Directorate of AOP IEA.

The meeting, which was convened today's Wednesday, July 12 in the meeting hall of the National Procurement Directorate under the leadership of Sheikh-Ul-Hadith, Mawlavi Noor-Ul-Haq Anwar, commenced with the recitation of the passages of the Holy Quran and after the recitation the General Director of the AOP IEA, Sheikh-Ul-Hadith, Mawlavi Noor-ul-Haq Anwar, addressed the participants and said that for the improvement and betterment of the procurement affairs; it is extremely necessary to create more coordination and awareness in this field.H.E Anwar called procurement as an important organ and added that if a person is trusted with a responsibility in Islamic Emirate, then it is necessary for that person to acquire skills and abilities in the relevant field.

In the meeting, the director of national procurement, Qari Abdul Wali Siddiqui, presented information to the participants about the creation of facilities and improvements in the procurement sector and added that efforts are underway to make the entire procurement system electronic as well as many other facilities and more transparency in the procurement process should be created.

Furthermore, in the meeting, the teacher of the National Procurement Institute, Zabihullah Maiwand, presented a presentation on the activities of the aforementioned institute and showed his readiness for the creation of training programs on capacity building in procurement affairs.

At last, the directors and representatives of procurement directorates of the ministries shared their suggestions, views, and challenges regarding the improvement of the professional capacity of the procurement staff and the improvement of procurement affairs and requested to address their problems.
