The second meeting of the committee for addressing health problems was held
This meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mawlavi Saifuddin Taib, Deputy Director of the Monitoring & Policy of AOP IEA and with the participation of representatives of the ministries of justice and public health, the Afghanistan Medical Council, and the National Food and drug administration.The meeting commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and then comprehensive discussions were made based on the agenda of the meeting.In the meeting the review of health sector laws, the control of fees of doctors in private hospitals, the control of the prices of examinations and hospitalization and other services were discussed, and the committee also shared its report on non-compliance with cleanliness in some government and private hospitals.At the same time, reports and suggestions were shared in relation to controlling the price of medicines in pharmacies, sending examinations from government hospitals to private laboratories, doctors going to their private clinics in official hours, and preventing favoritism in the service departments.At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the above mentioned issues would be shared with the relevant authorities to solve these problems and necessary actions would be taken in this regard.
Moreover, it was agreed to hold further meetings of the committee to solve the existing problems in the health sector.
The meeting ended with a prayer for goodwill.
