Coordination Meeting Held on Implementation of Prime Minister’s Office Directives Regarding Municipal Cleansing Fees
On September 1, 2026, a coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mawlavi Abdul Bari Atif, Deputy Director General for Coordination of Emirate Affairs at the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, in the institution’s conference hall, with the participation of the leadership of the General Directorate for Coordination of Municipal Affairs and representatives of ministries and Emirate institutions, to implement the directives and guidance of the Prime Minister’s Office of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan regarding the settlement of municipalities’ outstanding cleansing fees.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Director General for Coordination of Emirate Affairs said that municipalities are non-budgetary institutions and that their service delivery depends on the collection of cleansing fees. He also called on representatives of ministries and independent Emirate institutions to pay the outstanding amounts owed to municipalities.
Mawlavi Fazal Ahmad Haqqani, Director of Follow-up on Directives and Guidance at the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, provided an explanation of the objective and agenda of the meeting. Subsequently, Mawlavi Hasamuddin Saberi, Technical and Professional Deputy of the General Directorate for Coordination of Municipal Affairs, stated that the system is based on cooperation and coordination among ministries and institutions, adding that the General Directorate for Coordination of Municipal Affairs can achieve its objectives when institutions cooperate with municipalities and pay their cleansing fees.
Representatives of the ministries and Emirate institutions shared their views and opinions regarding their outstanding municipal fees and pledged to settle them.
During the meeting, the General Directorate for Coordination of Municipal Affairs was tasked with holding coordination meetings with ministries and Emirate institutions regarding their outstanding fees and determining the amount owed so that the institutions concerned could settle their outstanding payments.
The meeting, which began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
