Electronic Procurement System Awareness Program Held for Employees of Emirate Institutions

On August 17, 2026, the National Procurement Directorate of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs held an awareness, capacity-building and practical training program on the Electronic Procurement System for employees of Emirate institutions.

At the opening ceremony, Sheikh Abdul Rahim Rahimi, Deputy Director for Darul Insha at the National Procurement Directorate, delivered an opening speech to the participants. He highlighted the importance of learning modern technologies and making effective use of available resources. He said that Muslims are also responsible for familiarizing themselves with the scientific and technological developments of their time, learning new technologies and using them effectively to create greater facilities and conveniences for people and institutions.

He also emphasized that the Electronic Procurement System is an important tool for better organizing, expediting, ensuring transparency and facilitating procurement processes. He stressed the need for employees of Emirate institutions to become fully familiar with the relevant components of the system.

In the second part of the program, key components of the Electronic Procurement System were explained and demonstrated to the participants. In particular, the procurement planning and contract progress sections were introduced, and the procedures for recording, managing, monitoring and reporting on related activities were demonstrated in practice.

The participants were also briefed on and practically shown all stages involved in preparing, registering, amending, monitoring and approving the annual procurement plan. In the contract progress section, the procedures for recording, updating and tracking contract information were also explained.

The National Procurement Directorate is committed to continuing its training and technical programs aimed at further developing the Electronic Procurement System, enhancing users’ capacity, and promoting greater transparency and efficiency in procurement processes.
