On April 5, 2025, the National Procurement Directorate (NPD) of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs held a bid opening meeting for the construction of the Gavyan Dam in Paktia province.

The meeting, which took place in the conference hall of NPD, was attended by the bid-opening committee and representatives of bidding companies.

At the outset, Sheikh Abdurrahim Rahimi, the Deputy Director of NPD, emphasized that the Islamic Emirate works for the benefit of the nation, and the company offering a reasonable price for the contract will be selected as the winner.

He further stated that projects must be completed with sincerity and integrity, free from all forms of corruption. He added that by demonstrating honesty in national projects, Afghan traders abroad can be encouraged to invest in the country.

He assured the representatives that the bid opening process is conducted transparently and that the rights of all participants are respected.

The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
