Meeting Held Under the Chairmanship of the Director General of Administrative Affairs to Prevent Harmful Traditions in the Country
On December 14, 2024, based on the first decision outlined in order no. (2708/375) issued by the esteemed Amir al-Mu'minin Hafidzahullahu Ta'ala, a meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Sheikh Al-Hadith Mawlavi Noorul Haq Anwar, Director General of Administrative Affairs to address harmful traditions in the country. The meeting included representatives from the Ministries of Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, Hearing Complaints, Hajj and Religious Affairs, Education, Higher Education, Information and Culture, as well as the Supreme Court, the General Directorate of Dar al-Ifta, Ulema Councils, and Central and Jurisprudential Assemblies.
The session began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, after which Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlavi Noorul Haq Anwar provided detailed information on the topic.
Discussions focused on harmful and extravagant traditions that are deeply rooted in Afghan society and conflict with Islamic Sharia. These practices, which have persisted for years, have caused significant economic, moral, and social harm. It was noted that addressing these issues would require a collaborative effort involving relevant Emirate institutions, ulema, and community leaders, as individual efforts would not be sufficient to eradicate these traditions.
Following the guidance of the respected leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the delegation prepared and confirmed a procedure to prevent and reform harmful traditions and extravagant practices. The participants expressed optimism that, once approved, this initiative would become a beneficial and impactful step nationwide, yielding significant and positive outcomes.
The meeting concluded with a supplication led by Sheikh al-Hadith Khalifa Saeed Ahmad Shaheed Khel, the Military Deputy of the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints.
