Director General of Administrative Affairs: Agriculture Is Foundation of Country’s Industrial and Commercial Development

On August 12, 2026, the first international exhibition of agriculture and livestock in Afghanistan was held with the participation of Director General of Administrative Affairs Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlavi Noorul Haq Anwar, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Mullah Attaullah Omari, Minister of Information and Culture Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, and a number of other officials of the Islamic Emirate, traders, directors and representatives of private companies.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Director General of Administrative Affairs Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlavi Noorul Haq Anwar said that agriculture is the foundation of the country’s economic growth, industrialization and trade development, and that greater attention should be paid to the agriculture sector to promote the country’s economic growth and exports.

He added that Afghanistan has fertile land, sufficient water, diverse climates and suitable conditions for producing various agricultural products. Moreover, a large portion of the country’s population is engaged in agriculture. However, over the past few decades, the necessary conditions for the development of this sector were not provided.

Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlavi Noorul Haq Anwar stated that favorable opportunities have now been created for the development of agriculture and livestock, and that the Islamic Emirate has also given this sector a place among its priorities.

According to him, the development of agriculture and livestock is not only vital for strengthening the country’s economy, but is also of fundamental importance for meeting domestic needs, increasing exports, and advancing the country’s industrial and commercial development.

Afghanistan’s first international agriculture and livestock exhibition has been organized to showcase livestock and agricultural products, agricultural production and related activities, as well as to strengthen ties between traders and producers. The exhibition will continue until 25 Asad.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
