New mosques constructed and opened for public use in three recreational areas
On April 21, 2026, the Building Maintenance and Supervision Directorate of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs constructed three mosques in different areas of the capital, including a 165-square-meter mosque in the Bala Bagh recreational area of Paghman, a 135-square-meter mosque in the Qasr Tapa recreational area of Paghman, and an 80-square-meter mosque in the Kolola Pushta area of Shar-e-Naw.
On the occasion of the inauguration of these mosques, the Director General of Administrative Affairs, Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlavi Noorul Haq Anwar, the Director of Building Maintenance and Supervision, Mawlavi Mohammad Yusuf Saad, and several other officials visited these areas.
In his speech, the Director General of Administrative Affairs said that these are areas where domestic and foreign tourists have been coming for recreational purposes for years, but there was no proper place for performing prayers.
He added that prayer is a fundamental obligation for Muslims and such facilities should be available everywhere. Previously, various facilities existed in these areas, but the absence of a mosque was a shortcoming. Now, by the grace of Allah Almighty and the efforts of the responsible officials, this need has been fulfilled so that people can perform their prayers on time.
The meeting, which began with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran, concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
