Meeting Held to Accelerate Construction of Residential Buildings in Country

On April 20, 2026, in the conference hall of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, under the leadership of Mufti Shamsurrahman, Economy and Infrastructure Director of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, a meeting was convened to implement the Prime Minister’s Order concerning the identification of prohibited areas and mechanisms for public awareness, with the participation of representatives from Kabul Municipality, the General Directorate for Coordination of Municipal Affairs, and the General Directorate of Land.

Participants discussed implementation of the second clause of Order No. (7345), issued on 1/11/1447 AH, and emphasized that prohibited areas in cities and surrounding areas should be identified and marked according to the plans within one month.

Discussions were also held on public awareness efforts so citizens can be informed about areas where construction of residential buildings is prohibited. Municipal officials stated that, for better implementation of the order, technical teams have been assigned in provincial and district municipalities, as well as Kabul city districts, to accurately identify prohibited areas and pave the way for implementation of the remaining clauses.

In conclusion, it was decided that a joint committee, led by the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, would conduct weekly meetings, and relevant institutions would share progress reports so implementation could be monitored and problems addressed in a timely manner.

The meeting, which began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, concluded with a prayer for goodwill.
