The second phase of the Kabul Folad Steel Melting Factory was inaugurated in Herat province
The second phase of Kabul Folad Steel Melting Factory, which will be built on 15 jeribs of land in the industrial parks of Herat, was officially inaugurated in a ceremony attended by the Director for Investment Facilitation from the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, the Governor of Herat, and officials from the Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a speech from Mawlavi Engineer Ahmad Zia Khalid, Director for Investment Facilitation at the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs. He highlighted that, over the past two years, Afghanistan has made significant strides, particularly achieving self-sufficiency in the iron production sector. He also pointed to the successful implementation of other key national projects, including Qosh Tepa and TAPI.
Al-Haj Attaullah Wardak, Chairman of the mentioned factory, expressed his gratitude to the attendees and stated that they feel a deep responsibility to serve the people and the country, and are prepared to continue investing.
Meanwhile, Haji Hamidullah Khadim, Head of the Herat Province Chamber of Commerce and Investment, reflected on past challenges and emphasized the need to ensure the security of businessmen, along with the ongoing support of the Islamic Emirate’s programs.
In the second phase of the factory, an investment of $18 million will be made, with a daily production capacity of 700 tons of melted steel. Additionally, the third phase, requiring a further $20 million investment, is set to commence soon.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for goodwill.
