A coordination meeting was held about the management and implementation of the agreement of the Qosh Tepa Canal

November 22nd, 2023- A coordination meeting about the implementation and management of the agreement of Qosh Tepa Canal was held under the leadership of Mawlavi Muhammad Sabir Mutasim Billah, Administrative and Finance Deputy of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs and in the presence of the representatives of ministries of agriculture, irrigation & livestock, finance, energy & water, and Economy.

At the outset of the meeting, Mawlavi Muhammad Sabir Mutasim Billah said that mutual coordination and cooperation are needed to speed up the work progress of the Qosh Tepa Canal and added that the doors of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs are always open to the relevant bodies about the betterment of the said canal.
Moreover, he said that the Qosh Tepa Canal plays an important role in the economic development and agricultural growth of the country and all the relevant bodies should fulfill their responsibilities well in the implementation of this project.
At the same time, the participants of the meeting presented their technical and professional ideas related to the said agreement and there was a thorough discussion about its finalization.

In this agreement, the responsibilities and authorities of included bodies in the construction of the Qosh Tepa Canal were specified, which will be later sent to the Prime Minister's office for approval and implementation.

It should be said that the Qosh Tepa Canal is being built in northern Afghanistan to divert water from the Amu Darya. It has a total length of 236 km and starts in the Kaldar district of Balkh province and reaches Andkhoy district of Faryab province after passing through Jawzjan province.
