Coordination Meeting Held on Reactivating Deactivated Cold Storages

A coordination meeting of the committee for reactivating deactivated cold storages across the country was held under the leadership of Mr. Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce. The meeting was attended by representatives from the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, as well as deputies from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.
During the meeting, discussions focused on 14 cold storage facilities located across 12 provinces whose operations have been halted and remain incomplete. The participants explored strategies for reactivation and utilization to make these facilities operational again.
Mufti Abdul Wahid Usmani, Deputy Director of Investment Facilitation at the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, presented eight different models for the project. He proposed sharing these models with investors to allow them to choose options that align with their preferences and agreements.
Mr. Usmani also emphasized that if investors wish to implement any model through the Investment Facilitation Directorate, the directorate would fully cooperate and provide additional support to facilitate the process.
The participants welcomed the plans and models presented by the Investment Facilitation Directorate and a technical team was assigned to manage the technical and legal aspects necessary for moving the project forward.
