The President's Words

  • As disrupting the social contract between the citizen and the state through an all-out attack on freedoms embodied in the creation of the nation state and the international system is the core objective of the Fifth Wave, mobilization of the state system at all levels is crucial to defeating and destroying this wave of violence against citizens and states.

  • What is our fundamental problem that people, private sector and government cannot assemble? Our problems are corruption, lack of commitment, not taking the time serious, and culture of being boss…

  • The key to our success lies primarily in our ability to transform the culture of the state from entrenched corruption to a citizen-centered governance system.

Some (countries) in the region export terrorism, but our three countries’ – Afghanistan, Iran and India – export is hope, trust and cooperation. Meantime, this is our message that the entire region can take part in this joint cooperation and connectivity. Central Asia, Europe and China are parts of this vision and shared determination.

  • Afghanistan will be the graveyard of regional and international terrorism. If anyone tends to harm this soil, here will be his/her grave. Grave of Daesh, Al-Qaeda and other malignant terrorists.

The government and people of Afghanistan’s determination is to bring peace. If we stood against a peaceful solution, today [they] would legitimize this war. We are determined to ensure peace because the people need peace like air for living. But, we need to have willing to be able to reinforce the real peace. We never accept that peace where, God forbids, Afghanistan’s geography is divided. [We] do not admit that peace in which women’s rights and Afghanistan Constitution are questioned.

Today, the world stands with us strongly, because we proved our legitimate claims. What was our plan? We didn’t say who wants peace and who wants war. We said those who want to come to the negotiation table need to prove that they want peace. Those rejecting negotiations don’t want peace but war. We took two other steps. We said that all our international partners need to use force against those who want war. During trilateral and quadripartite negotiations, we made Pakistan and other countries accept sovereignty and territorial integrity of Afghanistan. We are not ready to submit even a span of our soil to others. What do you think? That Afghan boy who is ready to give sacrifice in the remotest area of the country, would he let anyone take a span of his soil?! Never, never, never!

Good governance needs neither money nor budget, but a vision and cooperation. Last year was the year to struggle for Afghanistan’s survival, but [we] need to change this year to the year of tackling corruption, sternly. I have to reiterate that anybody thinking of corruption should know that neither Afghanistan’s nation tolerates the elements of corruption nor international community endures to send their taxpayers’ money to the pocket of a few corrupt ones in Afghanistan.

The Holy Quran says “Wassulhu Khair” meaning peace is the best. Peace is the best choice not only for us and for our people but also for those who are in the trenches of rebellion. I once again call on Taliban groups to respect the divine call, the people’s want and sincere efforts of Jihadi leaders, and embrace the call of peace. Why use violence when grounds for talks and negotiations are open?

What response do they have for the verse which says in Verse 61 of Surah Al-Anfal, “And if they [your enemies] incline to peace, then incline to it [also] ”

  • [We] will put in all our efforts to bring in peace to the country. [We] should have crosswise preparation to protect Afghanistan’s security and stability. Our Defense and Security forces cannot be heedless for a moment. We also assure the entire …
